Short-Term Stay After Hospital Admission
Patients that have been admitted to a hospital for a minimum of three nights may have the option for a short-term stay in our center to receive 24-hour Nursing care and Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy up to seven-days each week. Patients may also request a short-term Respite in-patient stay for periods of a few days to several months.

In-Patient Residential Stay
Patients that require a permanent in-patient stay may be admitted from the Hospital, Assisted Living Facility or Home after receiving an admission order from their primary physician.

[review] => I would not work here. I have never been treated so bad at a job. The administrator is the rudest person I've ever met in my life. I never received proper training for my job but was expected to know everything. I was there for 3 months and received an annual performance evaluation and everything was marked needs improvement, of course I need improvement because i had never been in a director role. But then I was told I needed to write a letter on how I was going to fix the issues. There have been 3 social service managers in a year at this building, well now 4. I had been spoken to in a rudely manner that was unprofessional and unexceptable in front of other employees multiple times. There are times I tried to be funny, joke around and and the response I would get was, I was not talking to you, I'm sick of this, or I'm done. I asked for training on something that was new and I was told that its self explanatory. Other people are treated horrible as well. There is no positive work environment. Its a hostile work place. It's all negative. Instead of helping each other, people want to run and tell like its high school.

My father did not have a great experience while he was in rehab at Riviera Palms. He was unable to speak, ambulate, or eat without assistance. There were times when he waited for an hour for nurses or CNAs to help transfer; requests for liquids went without being met. My father contracted Covid during his 20-day stay at Riviera Palms; he continued to decline and lose weight.

[review] => I wouldn't recommend this place. Anytime you ask anyone for help, they will try to redirect you to someone else. Patients who are incontinent or need mobility help with the bathroom are only changed once a day.
Nurse Nikole was condescending and rude. When I approached "Dr. Michael" with a concern about my mother's swollen feet and ankles, he said "that's nice."
Barbara, the activities CNA, speaks aggressively and disrespectfully to the patients. It was very uncomfortable and upsetting to see.
I was lucky my mother was in a room near the nurses stations. The hallway at the far end of the building smelled awful and residents were usually left in the hallways unattended.
One nurse admitted she was disappointed with the lack of nutrition in the meals.
One nurse named Marley was very competent. Dondra, the social services director, and the activities manager were nice. But overall, this place was concerning and disappointing.

[review] => This is a complete poor excuse of a rehabilitation facility. The staff are very hard working and caring - however, the head nurse, care coordinator, social worker and administration are a sham. My stepmom was discharged, or so I guess, as I have no discharge paperwork, no follow-up and no idea what the plan was. The absolute truth is that I told them that my 91, almost 92 year old step mom lives alone and after her broken hip and frailty could not possibly be sent home. They showed me the physicians orders that stated she would be sent to assisted living for more rehabilitation. She lives in Florida and all of her family lives in other states. Our plan was to get her strong enough to bring her back to her home state where she could be cared for.
WHAT DID THEY DO? The had their transportation service drive her home to her 55 plus community with no key to her home - a neighbor luckily had access to a key - their intention, and was stated by driver, if we couldn't find a key we were going to leave her in the DRIVEWAY. In the week I was there I received very little physical therapy. The nurse call button was useless. It took 15 to 30 minutes for anyone to respond. I needed to drink a lot of water because of my kidneys but always waiting. They said both of the ice machines were broken . Every time I ask for ice cream it was melted. After a week of this I told my surgeon to either transfer me to home rehab or I would leave AMA. I don't know who is writing these glowing reviews but it must be the employees. My advice, avoid this place like the plague.

Every time I asked, and I was there every day why certain things were not being done I was told there were no orders. One of the nurses who really was good actually text the facilities doctor with my concerns the 2nd day she was there. She is a diabetic with kidney disease and is supposed to be weighed daily and watched for fluid retention. She was only weighed 3 times and never given the additional diuretic until I administered myself, due to still no orders 19 days in. Her Blood Sugar was also not monitored until day 22, after they were notified, we would be removing her. Do Not contact saying "we'd love to discuss", I have already addressed this with everyone from Sales to business mgr, to unit manager Karen who left me a V.M. After trying to reach her I gave up after being told there's no Karen, Oh she works a different shift, to she's not here. This facility is disgraceful and a perfect example of elder abuse! Forgot to add, she only had 2 showers has allergies to egg, pork, turkey and one night was given a piece of bread with jelly because they forgot to bring her back dinner after trying to feed her turkey. Wonder what her blood sugar was that night??

Lack of caring from the CNA and one even tied my father's legs together and blamed him for his fall when he waited over an hour to go to the bathroom. Food not showing up due to staff calling out, Missed Zoom calls due to staffing issues. High turn over and firsthand experience with bad staff members giving you an attitude when you drop them off for the first time. Receptionist ease dropping and inserting themselves into our private conversations during visitations. Not even Prison guards do that!
Missing items with the food trays is very common. So much so my father keeps a set available in case they forget them or if the forget the meals all together. Do not bother asking for help as they are severally understaffed and are sure proud to fill the patients in on their 3 Day work weeks that they are on now.
Maintenance issue exist, and my father worked in home construction and remodeling for years and knows what he is talking about. Do not go here or take your family member here!

No chair other than a wheelchair and a three-draw chest. His tv was next to he is bed mates on top of the curio with no angle to see it.
The conditions in the room were further from a five-star rating as there was cobweb in the corner of the vinyl base boards where they were separating from the walls. The walls had years of neglect showing and it was dismal.
I am so said that I was led to believe this place was great and a 5-star rated facility. There was no attention to my father overnight like I was led to believe and when I showed up to see him, I was met by the Social Worker whose comments where "And to what do we owe this visit too?" I informed him I was called by the unit nurse that my father had just passed, and I could come see him. The Social Worker said he was in a meeting and they had not been told about it. He doubted me and when on to check with others.
The level of rigor mortis clearly indicated he had passed over night and not just then like I was told. He was cold to the touch. He was a fall risk and was supposed to be checked frequently since he had been found on the floor twice before his passing.

The facility has made no accommodation for those family members that have been inconvenienced and my mother and I need to go another week without a visit. Their solution was to offer me a Zoom call with her, but Zoom does not work with patients who have dementia and are legally blind. If and when she uses the call bell she gets no answers for at least 30 minutes and if she has to ask for something they say they will be right back and the never come back. almost every meal she is missing something on the tray and when requested she does not get it. Today she had nothing to drink and she asked and NEVER GOT IT. She loves to go outside but the elevated is broken (since September) and she can't go down to the other one it's too long a walk so she is stuck in her room. She attends her monthly meeting and speaks about what she needs but it is lands on deaf ears and nothing changes.

[review] => My father is staying at Riviera Palms Rehabilitation for long term care after his rehab. I don't like the layout, but they keep it clean, and they have a courtyard outside with tables and chairs. It's only ten minutes from our house, so we go by and stop to see him every day. He likes the food, the staff seems good, and they seem to cater to him. He's satisfied, but he's not happy that he's getting less therapy now. He also doesn't like that on the weekends they sometimes have problems with the kitchen.

[review] => The staff has been more attentive than any other hospital or hospice center our family has used. Yes, the entire staff is excellent. The rehab center is designed for exactly what it's used for. The only downside to the facility is it needs some serious remodeling done from the inside. Don't get me wrong, it's just as clean as a hospital and doesn't smell. I'm giving them 5 stars though, because the amount of care, activities and rehab attentiveness astounds me. Good job staff keep up the great work.

[review] => At Riviera Palms Rehabilitation Center, the rehab was OK, but the rest of it was not good. I think the nurses were good, but they were overworked and did not have enough help. They just let Mother lay and didn’t change her diaper. When I went in, the nurse would say, “She would not eat,” and I'd ask her, “Did you try?” and I did not get an answer. I took her out earlier than what Medicaid paid because it was a nightmare at that facility. I did like the physical therapy department because they seemed to be the most caring and the most upfront about what was going on. My mother is 91, and I just wanted her to be comfortable. Instead, she wasn’t and screamed in misery there.

A. My Mother was sent to the dining hall dressed in nothing but the hospital gown, open in the back!
B. My Mother is diagnosed with Dementia before being admitted to this facility. She was given a powerful mind altering drug by the Dr. on staff at this facility. On the first line of information, about this medication, it say's DO NOT PRESCRIBE THIS MEDICATION TO ELDERLY PERSONS WITH DIMENTIA. IT'S USE MAY RESULT IN DEATH. She was in a terrible condition due to this.
C. During our first visit to Mom, at 2:30 pm, she was dressed in her nightgown, with a filthy diaper on.
D. When Mom first came here, she was continent. Now, they instruct her to go in her diaper!
E. At present we are trying to bring Mom home, but Riviera Palms is making it as difficult as possible.
I suspect it may be, because Mom is paying cash.

[review] => My Mother stays here. I'm very happy with the care she receives. I must admit we were scared having my Mother go into any rehab center. My Father & I visit often and I happy to say she is well take care of. The nurse's CNA's are friendly & accommodating. Mom has improved so much since being here. They give the special care my Father & I just cant do 24/7. If she was to stay are home she would stay in bed and look at the walls. Here shes able to get up go outside with the help she gets & has other women to talk to who are encouraging. Any problems which arose the admin took care of right away. Which is very comforting. I gave them five stars because they deserve it. Being a former Firefighter/EMT I saw a great deal of bad places in my time. This may be an older building but it's the staff inside who make the difference.
